The quality of virtually staged images depends heavily on the source photos. Even advanced AI staging engines require well-captured baseline images to produce photorealistic results.

If source photos have low lighting, distorted camera angles, or poor composition, the final virtual staging can look unnatural. This guide provides real estate photographers with key instructions for capturing optimal photos for AI staging.

1. Camera Positioning & Height

Camera height is critical for AI engines to map room depth and place furniture accurately.

• Ideal Height: Position the camera tripod between 1.2 and 1.4 meters from the ground. This provides a natural perspective, capturing both flooring and ceiling space.
• Level Horizons: Keep the camera completely level. Tilted or skewed angles make it harder for the AI to align perspective lines.
